Friends with Flair!!

It is finally Friday and I have the day off!  My last Friday off until next summer:-(

Here's a birthday card I made using my fave set "Decadent Pear" from Samantha Walker and Unity.  The technique I used with the embossing folder did not work as advertised but it ended up being more interesting... I just love these pears.  The set has bigger ones and smaller ones and it is amazing!

A closeup - the sentiment is from the June KOTM and work perfectly with these sweet pears....

All Things Unity - Ippity Monday

Savannah just put up the new challenge which is to make a summer card - great minds think alike!  I was just making another watermelon card for a summer birthday so here it is.  The sentiment is from the Unity June Kit of the Month and the watermelon is from Ippity "New Season, New Wonder."  Can anyone say "obsessed?"  I love love love this set!  There is a watermelon slice in the June kit but I like this one better!  I stamped it in Distress inks - Barn Door and Worn Lipstick.  The border is a fabulous Cuttlebug folder I found at the Great American Scrapbook Convention a few weeks ago...

All Things Unity - Friends with Flair

Here is a card for All Things Unity's "Wrap It Up" Challenge.  I had it in my gallery and had not shown it on my blog but, lo and behold, Lisa H. discovered it in my Splitcoast gallery and showed it on the Unity blog the other day.  I was so excited - it was the first time someone put one of my cards up there:-)

Also, sweet Savannah picked my butterfly tag as one of her picks for the last ATU challenge and I have that "All Things Unity Star" blinkie on my sidebar now.

Online Card Class Week 3

I used one of the alternate color combinations to make this adorable card...I am still trying to get enough time to make the first color combo - I had to clear out my dining room for company so now I can start making cards and a mess all over again:-)

As you can see, I am still working with Kristina's fabulous Week 2 sketch.  I love it!!

I know my card is not in this color scheme:-)  I used one of the alternates they gave us the other day:-)  All stamps are by Unity.

I have learned so much in the first three weeks of this class - Week 4 starts tomorrow!!

Friends with Flair!!

I'm later than usual with my post - it's been one of those days!!  This is how I feel - Friday's been slow getting here but now I am 100% Happy!

The sentiment is, of course, from the fabulous kit of the same name (I couldn't find it on the website any more but it is one of my all-time favorites).  The turtle is from You & Me = Happy which is so cute I can't stand it!

Ippity Monday Linky Party!

I have been very busy with my "New Season, New Wonder" kit lately.  Perhaps I am wishing for fall since our summer has been such a scorcher so far!  Please let us have one day under 99 degrees!!!

This first card actually uses "Sing a New Song."  I love this bird!

Summer Card Camp - Week 2

I have been busy making cards using Kristina's sketch and the main and alternate color schemes today... This is a fabulous opportunity to get new ideas and actually use them!  I also get to show off my favorite Ippity stamp set "New Season, New Wonder."  This pear is so fabulous!

Unity Friends with Flair!!!

TGIF or not - it just means my vacation is almost over:-)  Now, I will have to go out in the 100+ degree heat every day.  Drat:-)

Here are a couple of thing I made this week - the card uses stamps from the May 2011 Kit of the Month. You can find it here and it's on sale!  Where else could you find so many fabulous images in one place?! I added a chipboard butterfly and used Tattered Rose Crackle Paint on it - I love the way it turned out.  The paper is "Fine and Dandy" by My Mind's Eye - one of the mini pads that I adore!

The tag didn't turn out exactly as I planned - originally the plastic charm was going to hang from the ribbon but I didn't punch the whole big enough before I turned the heat gun on it.  This is from "She Said" which I can no longer find on the Unity site.  The flowers are from the Unity and Donna Downey classic "Insightful Meadows" that you can find here.  Next time I am stamping the woman on a circle and putting her in the center of a flower.  It will look fabulous!

Summer Card Camp - Week 2 Color Challenge

I am loving the card camp put on by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner!

This is the color combo and here's my card. I used the amazing Ippity set "New Season, New Wonder" for the apple and the sentiment.  The background is the Ippity single "A Bit of Burlap."   I absolutely love this card and this combination!

The apple was stamped in Distress Ink "Barn Door" and the watercolor orange is "Wild Honey" that I brushed on.  I also used twine from My Mind's Eye and a red flower brad to finish it off.  Sweet!!

Mojo Monday 198 Entry

Can you tell I'm on vacation?  I am sure DH would rather that I be doing something useful but instead I am playing with paper:-)  Here's an entry for Mojo Monday.  I fell in love with this Basic Grey "Out of Print" paper at the scrapbook convention last month.  I bought the large pack along with some accessories.  It is gorgeous!  I wanted to hoard it rather than cut into it but I decided to go for it.  The stamps are Ippity, of course - the text box is perfect with the paper...and. of course I love the little hat perched on the corner!

Ippity Monday Party

Hooray - it's Independence Day!!!

I don't have a red, white, and blue project today but I do have another tag!  I still am in love with the "Now & Always" set = this flower makes the most amazing backgrounds!  I also discovered this polyshrink plastic - wait till you see what happens when you put the heat gun on it!  Yep, that little medallion hanging at the top of the card uses the same stamp!  When you heat the plastic, it shrinks to 45% of its size.  It would be a great piece of jewelry too!  I got it at Stamp Asylum in Plano - if you're in the area, go visit - Monica has great stuff.....

Summer Card Camp Card

I decided I needed some more lessons in card making techniques so I signed up for online card classes from Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.  Jennifer's technique video this week was a window card - I don't know that I have ever attempted one before but here is my effort!  You can see the color combo we are using too...my photo is not too great but you can see the French Script Background (Stampin' Up stamp I scored on ebay).  I stamped in aqua on the outside and inside of my card.  I used a Sizzix die to cut my fleur-de-lis window and I outlined it in orange with a Marvy marker.  The "Thanks" and medallion stamps are from Ippity "Regal Greetings,"  one of my all-time favorite sets....
