Friday Friends with Flair!!!!

This time, I took a bag I got from the Dallas Flea from this great organization for women and dressed it up with my friend's gift inside.  The snowflake is from Ippity "Gingham Christmas Greetings."

Then I added a tag I made also using "Gingham Christmas Greetings."  I love making gift bags.  They are so much prettier than the ones at the store, dont you think?

Happy weekend and maybe I will finish my Christmas shopping, finally:-)

Get your Ippity here!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy!!

Friday - Sept 2 - Friends with Flair!!

Here is a card I made using the birthday sentiment from the January 2011 Kit of the Month.  I just love getting these packages every month- Unity has the best red rubber!  And, I adore the October Afternoon 5 and dime dp!

Unfortunately, I accidentally smudged the sentiment but let's just say it's "vintage."

Keep your eye out for the new Ippity release coming soon!  I will have all the new releases so buy them here.  I'll even throw in a surprise with each order.....

All Things Unity - Ippity Monday

Savannah just put up the new challenge which is to make a summer card - great minds think alike!  I was just making another watermelon card for a summer birthday so here it is.  The sentiment is from the Unity June Kit of the Month and the watermelon is from Ippity "New Season, New Wonder."  Can anyone say "obsessed?"  I love love love this set!  There is a watermelon slice in the June kit but I like this one better!  I stamped it in Distress inks - Barn Door and Worn Lipstick.  The border is a fabulous Cuttlebug folder I found at the Great American Scrapbook Convention a few weeks ago...

A closeup of the watermelon slices...

I hope you like it - leave a comment....and get your Ippity here!

Unity Friends with Flair!!!

TGIF or not - it just means my vacation is almost over:-)  Now, I will have to go out in the 100+ degree heat every day.  Drat:-)

Here are a couple of thing I made this week - the card uses stamps from the May 2011 Kit of the Month. You can find it here and it's on sale!  Where else could you find so many fabulous images in one place?! I added a chipboard butterfly and used Tattered Rose Crackle Paint on it - I love the way it turned out.  The paper is "Fine and Dandy" by My Mind's Eye - one of the mini pads that I adore!

The tag didn't turn out exactly as I planned - originally the plastic charm was going to hang from the ribbon but I didn't punch the whole big enough before I turned the heat gun on it.  This is from "She Said" which I can no longer find on the Unity site.  The flowers are from the Unity and Donna Downey classic "Insightful Meadows" that you can find here.  Next time I am stamping the woman on a circle and putting her in the center of a flower.  It will look fabulous!

Now for a little Ippity and you can get it from me!

New Season, New Wonder

Party Hat Wishes

Thankful for You

Happy Friday, everyone and remember to get your Ippity here!!

Unity Friends with Falir

TGIF!!!

Here is a project I made, finally using one of the fabulous, huge Suzi Blu stamps!  They are all amazing...this is a gift bag I did for a girl's graduation.  I used the bag from the store but I wanted to cover up its name so this is what I did!  I used colored pencils since I only have a couple of Copic markers (my fab friend gave me some extras).  I was tempted to stamp a chandelier on the right side but DH didn't care for that.  The animal background is from Unity's March KOTM.

So, visit all the other Unity peeps who've posted here and leave some love.  Maybe you'll win something!!!  TGIF, I can't say that enough today!

Friday Friends with Flair!!!

TGIF!!!!!  This week I have some tags using techniques I learned at Stamp Asylum last week....

The first one uses a Unity Itty Bitty that I love!  It is by Websters Pages and contains the stamp with three butterflies and the sentiment.  You can see that the tag is overstamped with three different but complementaty shades of ink.  Love this!

Next is a tag incorporating birds - I used the Ippity "So This is Love" set - scoot to the sidebar to buy it 'cuz ya need it:-)  I used several different distress inks to get this sunset look.

Finally, a technique with Distress Ink on one side and Distress Crackle Paint on the other.  I love the "Lovely Lilacs" stamp.  I stamped a sentiment on a piece of pink paper and then punched a butterfly and added Websters Bloomers to the bottom of the tag.  I love it!!

I hope everyone has a great Friday and a great weekend!!

Unity's Birthday - Dream Big

Unity Stamp Company is celebrating its third birthday today!  Make sure you check out their blog.

Since we do not seem to be having our usual Ippity Hippity Hop tomorrow I thought I'd throw up a tag I made this morning.  I was feeling inspired after taking a class at Stamp Asylum in Plano yesterday. Although the butterfly stamp in the class was from Stampers Anonymous, my home creation is from  Unity.

This tag was used to demonstrate adding dimension by using three shades of ink and stamping them all over the tag.  The class used a lovely botanical butterfly/moth stamp that was a row of four butterlies and moths.  However, my beautiful Webster's Pages Butterfly Itty Bitty worked perfectly at home,  Plus, it has the great sentiment included, all for about six bucks or so!  I just took a piece of ribbon from a Christmas package that blended perfectly to be the topper.  Gorgeousness!!

Happy Birthday, Unity!!!!!!

Friday Friends with Flair!!!

I can't believe it's nearly the middle of February. Time flies!!!  This is a frame I picked up at Target as a birthday gift for a good friend.  I wanted to do some stamping, too!  I thought she could find some family photos and leave in a sentiment panel but she told me she is not taking anything out because she likes it the way it is.

I used my favorite Donna Downey set, Insightful Meadows, for two of the panels, and an October 2010 KOTM stamp for the other one.  I used some fabulous Graphic 45 paper for the small square and stuck a gem flourish over it, too.

I figured she could write in family member names on this nifty stamped panel, depending on which panels she wanted to replace with her photos.

This was a great project and really brought out the best in an inexpensive frame.  Since she knows how non-artistic I am, she was very impressed with this gift....

Have a great weekend and remember to visit all the other hoppers here.

FWF - Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the blog hoppers today!  These are a few of my tags, etc. for Christmas boxes and wrappers...

The first one is from Webster's pages - the photo didn't turn out well but the recipient loved it.  I love the artsy feel of these Websters Pages sets - they are so appealing.

The back of the box has my trademark, mittens of course.  They are from a past kit of the month (I couldn't find it on the website but it must be October).  Cute, huh?

Then, we have a few gift enclosure cards - the adorable snowmen are from one of the Jillibean Soup sets. I also used one of the Cosmo Cricket sets named for me (Mitten Weather) for the sentiments and snowflake.

I have lots of other projects to complete before Christmas strikes and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your families.

Remember to check out all the other bloghoppers here and look for the blinkie because someone is going to win 25 free stamps today:-)

And, check out the Unity sales - lots of stuff to buy with free shipping....

Friends with Flair on Friday!!!

Happy Friday - we loved the Ippity release and the Webster's Pages release yesterday was the icing on the cake!!

To change the subject:-)  here are a couple of Christmas cards I made this week...of course, I loved the mittens from October's Kit of the Month - how cute are they with the paper from the Cosmo Cricket "Mitten Weather" minideck?  How could I resist buying paper that is named for me....the "Noel" is a Sizzix die that makes these cards oh so easy.  I used a grey ink snowflake on the second card and I really like the way it turned out.  The cards are from Making Memories - I believe I got them from my friend Pat at Paper Maniac.

So, you really should try out this stamp - it is adorable and remember that nothing is better than a Mitten!!

Have fun along the hop and look for the blinkie so you can have a shot at winning some red rubbah today!!

And, of course, get your Ippity here - I haven't got the new sets posted here yet but you can always email me if you want to make a purchase.

TGIF and FWF

Yippee, I'm taking the day off to go to a scrapbooking convention.  I am very excited since I've never attended one - I know I will be sorely tempted by all the goodies:-)  I guess I can go overboard since I celebrated my one-year obsession with stamping this past weekend:-)

This is my current project - I wanted to try to stamp on tiles and make coasters - even better since each of these tiles cost only 32 cents at Lowe's!  I used my beautiful "Butterfly Beauty" set with a dragonfly that I won in a 25-random bag from Unity on FWF, of course.  These are beautiful large butterflies that I stamped with black Staz On and masked so I could stamp over with a word stamp.  I used chalk to color the butterflies very subtly...

Let me know what you think!  These will make a gorgeous gift for someone and they cost about $1.50 a set!  They will be fabulous handmade gifts for some of the people I work with and that I like to get modest gifts for - they will be thrilled, I'm sure!

Hmmm,  I was thinking earlier that my next set will use a portion of the Unity "Lovely Lilacs" single that I have - that will be beautiful with some chalk pastel coloring....

That's it for today!  Remember to visit all the other blogs on the hop here. And, get your Ippity here!

FWF!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed seeing all the great new Unity products yesterday.  Every single one of the new kits is a "must-have"!!!!

My card today is based on Jimmi's sketch challenge from yesterday - it's all I had time to whip up last night:-).   The sentiment is from the Feb Store Kit and the fantastic balloon is from the Dec KOTM.  I also broke open my Noir hybrid ink from a Unity scrapbook kit and I love the way it looks!

That's what I have for today!!!

And, congratulations to my friend Suzanne who had a little apron published in this month's "Stamper's Sampler."  Check it out.

And, of course, get your Ippity here...

FWF - TGIF!

Welcome and Happy Friday!!

I've got a couple of new projects today - I was hoping to have more to show today but time got away from me.  The weather was fabulous so I spent the day outside:-)  Unfortunately, that mean taking photos at night and I'm sorry to say they didn't turn out too well.  I was trying to emulate a bookmark I saw in a Stampington magazine with the little black tag - it looks pretty good IRL.  The kraft card that is with it I made a while back and I have shown it before.  I really like this one - I love the stamp!  I tried to vary it with some brighter colors but it didn't turn out as I had imagined:-)  The dress form is from the October 2009 Store KOTM - the frame and the "imagine" stamp are from a scrapbooking kit.

I love Unity stamps!!  Remember to leave some love and check out the other FWF blogs here.

See you on Monday for the Hippity Hop!!

FWF!!!

Hi everyone - I can't believe it's Friday again!  TGIF!!!!

Now, down to business - the winner of the five random Unity stamps is JenMarie!!!  Yippeee.  Just send me your address and I'll drop them in the mail.

I am slowly working on this little scrapbook - I like these small layouts because they go pretty fast.  You may remember this great page with a photo of a spectacular hat perched on my mother's head.

The little flags are from this Unity's current scrapbooking/collage kit that I absolutely love!!  The fish stamp is from "Beach Days and Sun Rays" - I guess I am ready for summer!!

The two above are just great parade photos of Canada Day in St Johns, Nfld.  I love red and I love parades so these are perfect - no stamps but admire them anyway....

Then we have a photo of the Sport Shop in St Johns - it was the topic of conversation all over town in July 2004 - come to find out it happened in April!  I know my mother will enjoy this fun fact - I used this great flourishy stamp (from which set I don't recall) to approximate smoke in the photo and an old newsprint-like dp to pretend it's a news story.

And, finally, a photo of a forbidding sky in St Johns - I love this photo.  I used stamps from the October KOTM that fit this shot perfectly!

That's all I have to show this week!  Remember to leave some love and visit the rest of the bloghoppers here.  And always remember to buy your Ippity here!!!

FWF Friday!!!!

What an exciting week!  The Ippity release was fantastic and so are all the stamps!  Let's get to the Unity, though!  Check out the new blog here!

Here are some cards I made last year (before I had all my tools like Nestabilities and Big Shot dies, etc.).  Even though they are not as well layered as some of the cards I am making now, they are still fabulous because Unity has the best images and sentiments.  You don't need a lot of stuff to make a great card - you just need the right stamps and a tiny bit of imagination.  I look at these cards now and I know what else they need - a tweak here and a tweak there and I will recreate them one of these days!  My favorite stamps are from Unity's kits of the month - they are a bargain and have a wide variety of images and sentiments.   Check them out here.

And, check out the rest of the hoppers here.  And, remember to look for the blinkie...

(Just a note about the first card - only the sentiment is Unity - I didn't have many stamps when I made it way back when.)

In honor of today's blog hop and this week's Ippity release, I will pick a commenter to win five random Unity stamps.  Just leave a comment by midnight Saturday and it might be you!!!

Thanks for looking,

Jennifer
