FWF!!!

Hi everyone - I can't believe it's Friday again!  TGIF!!!!

Now, down to business - the winner of the five random Unity stamps is JenMarie!!!  Yippeee.  Just send me your address and I'll drop them in the mail.

I am slowly working on this little scrapbook - I like these small layouts because they go pretty fast.  You may remember this great page with a photo of a spectacular hat perched on my mother's head.

The little flags are from this Unity's current scrapbooking/collage kit that I absolutely love!!  The fish stamp is from "Beach Days and Sun Rays" - I guess I am ready for summer!!

The two above are just great parade photos of Canada Day in St Johns, Nfld.  I love red and I love parades so these are perfect - no stamps but admire them anyway....

Then we have a photo of the Sport Shop in St Johns - it was the topic of conversation all over town in July 2004 - come to find out it happened in April!  I know my mother will enjoy this fun fact - I used this great flourishy stamp (from which set I don't recall) to approximate smoke in the photo and an old newsprint-like dp to pretend it's a news story.

And, finally, a photo of a forbidding sky in St Johns - I love this photo.  I used stamps from the October KOTM that fit this shot perfectly!

That's all I have to show this week!  Remember to leave some love and visit the rest of the bloghoppers here.  And always remember to buy your Ippity here!!!

Hippity Hoppity Hop

The onsalught of Mardi Gras pub crawlers in my neighborhood yesterday reminded me that Easter is just around the corner!  What better set for Easter goodies than the new Ippity set "Sweet Thoughts of Spring"?  To be honest, I didn't think I would be crazy about this set but when I saw the design team samples during the release party, I knew what I wanted to do.

I cruised the Scor-Pal website for easy treat templates and found the perfect little tent for a few Hershey kisses.  I thought it would also make a great place card for an Easter brunch!  I made several with the little chick and the Easter egg basket but also decided to throw in a few letters from "Alphabetically Adorable."  Since the members of my family each have a different letter at the beginning of their name, it works great.  I also found a cute gift card holder (originally for Christmas) that was perfect for that cute bunny.  I love the borders in this set but didn't have a chance to play with them.

Aren't these little tents adorable?

How about this bunny gift card holder?!  (I'm not a very good artist but this bunny is cute even after I watercolored him:-)

And, the highlight of the day, a scrapbook page from one of my trips to Newfoundland with my mother. Check out that crazy hat, pointed out by "Alphabetically Adorable."  I don't have this set in stock but I am happy to order it for you if you like.  I used some Unity fish stamps because I am temporarily out of "Fishy Philosophy."  Cute, eh?

I'll have more scrapbook pages on Friday since the rest of the pages I've done so far have Unity stamps.  See you then and that's when I'll announce the winner of the five random Unity stamps.

Remember to leave some love here and for all the Ippity peeps here.  And, get your Ippity here!

Have a great week, everyone!

FWF Friday!!!!

What an exciting week!  The Ippity release was fantastic and so are all the stamps!  Let's get to the Unity, though!  Check out the new blog here!

Here are some cards I made last year (before I had all my tools like Nestabilities and Big Shot dies, etc.).  Even though they are not as well layered as some of the cards I am making now, they are still fabulous because Unity has the best images and sentiments.  You don't need a lot of stuff to make a great card - you just need the right stamps and a tiny bit of imagination.  I look at these cards now and I know what else they need - a tweak here and a tweak there and I will recreate them one of these days!  My favorite stamps are from Unity's kits of the month - they are a bargain and have a wide variety of images and sentiments.   Check them out here.

And, check out the rest of the hoppers here.  And, remember to look for the blinkie...

(Just a note about the first card - only the sentiment is Unity - I didn't have many stamps when I made it way back when.)

In honor of today's blog hop and this week's Ippity release, I will pick a commenter to win five random Unity stamps.  Just leave a comment by midnight Saturday and it might be you!!!

Thanks for looking,

Jennifer

Hippity Hop - Simply Home

My young niece wants to raise money for her local animal shelter and asked if I would make some cards for her to sell.  How could I refuse?!!  She did ask that the cards have animals on them so I had to fall back on the wonderful Ippity set, Simply Home. (By the way, I have one more set of this available for sale - just go over to the sidebar to get it.)  Here it is in all its fabulousness!!

I admit that I have not used this set to its full potential until today:-)  I love the barn and tree and the animals and sentiments - in short, what's not to love?

Here are a couple of different styles of cards I made today.

This uses dp from the incredible DSW Rustic stack - I found it at Joann's after Christmas and used my Christmas giftcard to purchase it - it is amazing and has the richest looking papers.  I used some Target raffia ribbon to put around it and make it a bit more rustic.  Below is another example using the same papers...

This card is a bit more girly - I know someone will love it.  Besides, whoever buys these cards will be putting 100% of their money to a good cause, the Animal Shelter in Milton, Mass.  My niece is a true animal lover, in fact I think she's the animal whisperer because all animals are drawn to her sweet, gentle disposition.

At the moment, this is all I've got to show for the day...perhaps I'll be more productive when the Super Bowl is on:-)

Happy Monday, everyone!  Remember to leave some love for all the bloghoppers today!  If you missed the beginning of the hop, just click here.

[H]ippity Hop!!!

Welcome to the Ippity blog hop, one of the few things that makes me look forward to Monday!!!

I have one new card to show off today - I used it for the Challenge this week. If you've looked at my blog before, you know I love to make circle cards.  I sent out 30 round Christmas cards this year and made them up like ornaments.  They were a huge hit!  (Scroll to my older posts to see a few...)

This card uses one of the last scraps of my favorite paper ever, the Japanese paper from Paper Source.  It came in a large sheet and I have used it for everything fom lining envelopes to making cards.  It is beautiful with the gold highlights and it just inspires me every time I see it. The round gold card is also from Paper Source - in the 50% sale bin after Christmas.  This is thank you card for my mom - I used the "love" stamp from "Because of You" and the thank you and frame from "Just Wanted to Say."  I also embossed the card for some textural interest.

I want to say that these Ippity stamps are fabulous - they are inexpensive and can be used for all occasions.   I don't have a favorite set but I have used "Kissmas and Mistletoe" more than any other set I own.  The sets are the perfect size for beginners - not too many stamps to overwhelm a beginner and just enough to have a complete range of stamps for limitless ideas.  I can't say enough nice things about the folks at Ippity and Unity.  About 99% of my stamps are from Unity or Ippity (I've only been stamping for a few months and have amassed a large collection.)  The prices are excellent, the quality is fantastic, and they are made in the USA.  How great is that!!  If you don't buy your Ippity here, check out some of the other bloghoppers here .

Have a great week!
