GROWING IN UNITY - DAY 4

This is my second to last day of sharing projects with you.  I still have projects to share, again trying some easy to mass produce Christmas cards while still mixing them up so each card has some individuality.  I am sure this is the season that spurs us to make the most handmade cards since we send out many at once.  I love creating my own cards but will admit that some years I had to supplement with store bought boxed cards.  I haven't done that lately, though, since I have started mass producing some easier designs.

I absolutely love this coffee cup and made a card with it.  But, it would be great on a Starbucks gift card holder, too!  Here's my first attempt - again, an amazingly sharp image the first time.  I had to do a little magic since I stamped the sentiment upside down.  Doh!!

This is how it turned out and I absolutely love this card with all its bling!  I have glitter paper and foil cardstock as layers under the coffee cup image. It looks amazing in really life.

GROWING IN UNITY - DAY 3

We more than half way through my Growing in Unity week now!  I am veering away from Christmas for the day with something out of my comfort zone.  I fell in love with this image at first sight.  I stamped it out and left a thumbprint on the side but you will see how I fixed it.  This is from Phyllis Harris who has many brilliant stamp sets at Unity.  I don't blame her for having Unity do her stamps, their red rubber is perfect.  There is no conditioning the stamps - just take them out of the package, ink them up, and perfection.  I have lost my Misti and I have been stamping these old school and the images are still amazing even when you get only one try at it.

I couldn't imagine this image of the upturned head and hands without something for her to look at or for her to have thrown in the air so here it is.  I added these stars and I love this card so much!  Again, my amateur coloring but it doesn't matter because you can't ruin this image.

This is called "Joyful Echoes" and you need to get it now!

I hope you all have a great day and remember to leave a comment for a chance to win a Unity prize!

GROWING IN UNITY - DAY 2

Welcome to the second day of my Growing in Unity week.  Again, this is all about Christmas cards. So many great sets to choose from, so little time!  Here's another peek at our new kitty.  My husband is obsessed with walking her on a leash.

Anyway, on to the cards!

When I was making these cards, I thought my coloring skill was pretty good - when I took photos, I realized a 6-year old could have done this.  I think it would be great to stamp a bunch of these for the kids to color and give to friends for Christmas.  My husband immediately declared that he was picking this et for our cards.  This stamps beautifully - my Misti is missing in action and I have been stamping old school and these sentiments came out perfectly every time.  I tried one in traditional colors with foil paper which I am obsessed with right now and the other in nontraditional colors.  I love this set!!!!  It is on sale, I think, if you realize you need it too.

Note that I haven't put on sequins or enamel dots because these will be going out in the mail:-)

Here is the set...how cute is this???

Remember to comment for a chance to win a prize from Unity.  Thanks for stopping by - come back tomorrow for more fun cards!

GROWING IN UNITY - DAY 1

So we had a false alarm last week when Kelli announced I was the GIU girl for last week:-).  So, here is my real week!

A lot has changed over the past year.  We lost our big fur ball Miss Hissy in the summer of 2022.  But, in March 2023, I found this little cutie roaming outside.  This was never an outdoor cat and I don't know where she came from.  Nobody claimed her but we fell in love with her. I think you can see why!  Just remember that our pets and stamping always go together! The Unity community is such a fabulous place to be - everyone is supportive of each other, one of the safe places on Facebook.  That is due to Angela's kindness that is shared by everyone at the company.  I appreciate you all more than you know!

On to the stamping, the important part of the Growing in Unity week!  I have already placed my Brown Friday order and maybe it will come before the end of this week so you can see what I ordered.  Fingers crossed.

I am going to make this week all about Christmas.  It has snuck up on us and I need a LOT of cards!  Unity has some of the best Christmas sets.  I have some items that are no longer available that I will be mixing in - when they have items that are fabulous, you need to get them before they are gone!  I'll let you know which sets are still available. The Christmas themed Kits of the Month always give you a lot of options as well.  I started my stamping adventures with Unity and they are still my favorite stamp company!  On to the creations!!!!

I love this penguin from "Don't Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle."  It is an itty bitty that is precious and fun!  I looked at the website and, unfortunately,  it does not seem to be available any more.  It makes a great card and would make a fabulous tag!  I know the site has plenty of similar types of fun stamps that you could use instead.  I know there are some other penguins that are adorable.  Look at the great crisp image you get from a rubber stamp!  I have lost my Misti so had to stamp these old school so forgive anything that looks crooked!

I also want to rave about the dies Unity has.  You need these!!! Photos below: Deckle Edge Dies and Scallops and Rectangles Nesting Dies.  If you are an A2 card maker, these might be the only ones you need.  I used both sets on my cards today and you will probably see them on my projects every day:-)

Growing in Unity - Day Five Finale

It's Day Five - my final GIU day.  It has been a blast and I appreciate all your kind comments.  Unity makes me feel creative and those stamps just speak to me💖

First is a flower from Holly Hoffman's "Wild Florals."  I watercolored it, fussy cut, and added to a silver and white patterned panel I had in my stash.  So easy to put together!  The sentiment is from a sentiment kit, of course - "So Very Grateful" from Jan 2018.  The lighting is not good with these metallic finishes - it looks great in real life, I promise!

I absolutely love this swan from the "Grow in Grace" sentiment kit.  Isn't it lovely?  The sentiment is from the sentiment kit "There Is No Reason."  I absolutely love the font.

Thanks for stopping by this week.  Remember to leave comments on all my posts for a chance to win $20 credit to the Unity store.

Stay safe and I'll see you on the Unity pages!

Growing in Unity - Day Four

Day Four!  Here are my cards for Day four - again with the hoarded pattern paper backgrounds and some coloring of a fabulous image.  This is "Margaret Girl," one of my go-to birthday card stamps.  I love her stance and the balloons help give it more color.  The sentiment is from the Aug 2018 sentiment kit "There Is No Reason."  I love the font on this sentiment!

My other card is totally from this sentiment kit.  The flower is huge!  And the sentiments are all wonderful.

If you want to invest in something versatile and you have a limited budget, pick one of these kits.  You get an amazing large image that fills up your card, and lots of versatile sentiments.  Totally a bargain!

I hope you are having an amazing week and be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a $20 credit at the Unity site.

Growing in Unity - Day Three

Day 3 of my week - can't believe it is half over already.  Again with the purple!  I love this giant stamp - it is simply stunning and takes up the whole card.  Again, not.a great colorer but I loved the colors with his beautiful background paper (from my hoarding stash). Sorry for the bad photo - that watercolor paper is a bit heavy and just doesn't want to stand up straight.

An absolutely beautiful stamp set  called "You Are Forever Beautiful."
And, for a change of pace, here is my custom stamp from Nic Magnuson.    To order, just click "Custom Stamps" on the Unity website banner and you can work with Nic to get one that is just right for you.  I put this on all my cards.  It has a little whimsy and it is my name, after all.

Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a $20 credit to the Unity store and make sure you come back tomorrow for more creations!

Happy Wednesday, all!!

Growing in Unity - Day Two

Here we are, already on Day Two of my Growing in Unity week!  I might like the color purple.  I have been on a mission to use up my patterned paper as card backgrounds. That might take another 20 years - I do love a beautiful patterned paper.   Another painted flower - beautiful tulips from one of my favorite Kits of the Month, on top of some great purple glitter paper.

Purple or periwinkle?  My theme is purple so we'll go with that.  I absolutely love the way this turned out.  I don't think the sentiment is Unity, though.  But I love these flowers.  So easy to color.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to leave a comment for a chance to win a $20 credit to the Unity shop!

Growing in Unity - Memorial Day

It is Memorial Day, a day for somber reflection about the heroes who have sacrificed everything for our country's freedom.  I am proud to be an American, even with all the work we have to do as a nation.

This is also the weekend for the Unity Memorial Day sale - lots of goodies over there so check it out!   The sale ends on May 31.  I am honored to be the Growing in Unity host this week.  Remember to leave comments this week on each post for your chance to win $20.00 at the Unity shop.

A little history - this is also my Stampversary.  I discovered stamping and Unity on Memorial Day Weekend of 2009 when my husband and stepson decided to go camping.  Once they were out of the house, I came across the OWH (Operation Write Home) blog and Memorial Day blog hop and found someone using Unity on one of the stops.  I raced over to the Unity site and placed my first order.  I do order a few things from other companies now and then but no company speaks to me like Unity. I love their stamps and amazing design team and, of course, the beautiful people of Unity. Angela is such a positive person and I love seeing Nic and Whit getting really involved in the business.  And the employees are the best - customer service is unmatched!  Of course, it all stems from their beautiful red rubber stamps.

It has been a while since I had a chance to make a card and I am a little rusty so bear with me.  Although these cards are not perfect, I sent them out anyway.  Everyone appreciates a card you made yourself!

As you can see, I am not the greatest at coloring, but I love these cacti.  Even I couldn't ruin this fabulous image from a past Kit of the Month. These kits are an amazing value and the images are huge!  I mean, look at this kit!  I had to stop my subscription because I have no more space to store them and refuse to part with any. You'll feel the same way - won't want to part with any!

I have some favorite artists at Unity - okay, well I love them all.  This is from a Graciellie set - I absolutely love her images - they are beautiful.

Again, not the best coloring but this image I stunning.  Here is the set it is from.  The "thanks" is from another set - these beautiful sentiments didn't fit on this card but I will be using them!

I hope you get some ideas from this post and I'll see you tomorrow!
